The Passive Defense and Crisis Management Department of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company
The Passive Defense and Crisis Management Department of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company was established in 2010 as part of attempts to immunize the country’s petrochemical industry and reduce its vulnerability against internal and external threats.Passive defense measures include boosting deterrence, reducing vulnerability, carrying on with necessary activities, promoting national resistance and facilitating crisis management.
As the first step, the NPC has classified its petrochemical complexes based on their significance and critical condition. The most important objective of this measure has been to implement the passive defense requirements in process plants and petrochemical projects in accordance with the nature and status of each company.
