Golden Year
Golden Year of Petrochemical Industry
It is safe to say that the role of the petrochemical industry in the economic, political and even social dimensions of the country has never been as colorful as 2017, the golden year of the petrochemical industry. The impact of crippling sanctions on crude oil exports and the spread of Covid-19 made the year very sensitive and decisive to begin with. The role and performance of key stakeholders in the petrochemical industry, including investors, the administration and the parliament, and of course the National Petrochemical Company as a development organization and stakeholder relations coordinator, led to the inauguration of 17 projects in the year, including three important catalyst production projects with a capacity of 25 million tons per year, the opening ceremony of 13 important petrochemical projects in 2020, and the startup of 4 more projects in the beginning days of the calendar year of 1400 which began on March 20, 2021.
